Learn Critical Skills

Whether your training is required by OSHA, part of your company policy, or you simply want a safer workplace, Lifeguard LI provides flexible training solutions designed to meet your corporate guidelines.

The purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers program is to train professional-level rescuers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in until EMS takes over.

Give CPR and save a life. You could be the difference for your parent, spouse, child or friend. Did you know about 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes?  The benefits of performing CPR can double or triple the chance of survival.

One of the most important skills you can have is CPR training. Whether you are an emergency responder or a stay-at-home mom, having this knowledge could help you save a life.  Many places of work are requiring a CPR certification and even if they don't you will still want to be prepared for a wide range of emergencies.

Responding To Emergencies (RTE) For Coaches

Do you coach a team or run a youth organization? Then you should consider a CPR AED certification. There are endless situations in your daily life where CPR/AED training can become invaluable. You will want this class experience when caring for young children or family members, so why are you still waiting?
Our American Red Cross CPR classes consist of a lecture and hands-on experience. During the lecture portion of our course, you will first learn why CPR is necessary and what to expect while providing CPR. Some additional topics the lecture portion will cover include:
  • Signs of a cardiac arrest, stroke and heart attack.

  • How to clear an airway.

  • What to do if there are two rescuers.

  • How to prioritize an individual's care.

  • What an automated external defibrillator (AED) is and how it works.

  • Red Cross first aid training.

Your instructor will discuss how to best take control of an emergency through delegating, assigning tasks and remaining calm to provide the best care. Throughout the lecture, you will also learn how to administer aid without putting yourself or others at risk.
After completing the lecture, your instructor will move on to the hands-on portion of the course by practicing techniques on dummies and role-playing. You and other students may have to act out various medical emergencies to ensure you are comfortable with the role and the types of questions you will need to ask a victim.

As you practice CPR and learn how to use an AED on a dummy, the instructor will move around the room to ask questions and correct techniques. These questions and critiques are to ensure you understand the proper procedure. You will have to pass a written and hands-on test at the end of class to receive your CPR/AED certification.

Our highly educated staff are American Red Cross certified instructors who offer unparalleled real world experience.  From police officers to healthcare professionals, our instructors can offer insight that no other team can matched, guaranteed. We teach CPR certification NYC and on Long Island in Nassau County and Suffolk County. We train health care providers and offer basic life support as well.

Don't forget to ask about our group rates! As always, everything is more fun with friends.
